Role Summary/Purpose
The successful candidate will join a dynamic team responsible for GE Healthcare’s global tax affairs, playing a broad role in tax compliance, tax planning and the associated tax accounting for GEHC’s operations in Asia. This role reports to the Tax Director Operations.
Essential Responsibilities
? Participate in the forecasting and reporting cycles to forecast taxable income position, effective tax rate and tax payments.
? Developing and maintaining processes for timely and accurate recording of current and deferred taxes for US GAAP, including use of tax accounting software, ensuring processes are SOX compliant.
? Review of US GAAP tax provisions and ASC740 reconciliations.
? Review of tax returns and local statutory accounts tax disclosures.
? Input on uncertain tax positions and valuation allowance analysis.
? Assist in the preparation and review of GE Healthcare’s US Federal, State and Foreign Information Reporting.
? Provide quantitative analysis of tax attributes for planning opportunities and compliance requirements.
? Assist the regional tax team with tax planning initiatives and tax audits examinations by federal, state and local taxing authorities.
? Partner with Healthcare’s Business & Regional Tax Directors and colleagues in GE Corporate Tax to analyze and structure transactions and strategic projects.
? Being a strong partner with the Controllership and the Global Operations Finance teams.
Qualifications/Requirements
? Experience working full-time as a tax professional or CPA with a minimum of 5 years of work experience in a major law or accounting firm or in industry with extensive exposure to US GAAP tax accounting, direct and indirect tax compliance and tax planning in an international context.
Desired Characteristics
? Sound understanding of the tax environment for a US multinational group and a proficient knowledge of US GAAP tax accounting.
? Solid PC skills: experience with tax accounting software (e.g. Onesource) and financial systems/applications (i.e.: Oracle, HFM, Business Objects, etc.), strong Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation, for example, pivot tables, V-lookup & Macros.
? Ability to implement processes and controls throughout a global tax function or organization.
? Strong communication skills: experience working across multiple functions and regions and able to clearly communicate complex information in an easy to understand manner.
? Strong analytic skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers generate alternatives and drive positive change.
? Ability to assimilate large amounts of information quickly & relate the repercussions to the appropriate audience.
? Clear thinking / problem solving: demonstrated ability to implement in addition to advising.
? Ability to prioritize based on business needs.
? Proficiency in analytical modelling.
? Integrity: Accepting ad adhering to high moral, ethical and personal values in decision, communications, actions and when dealing with others.
? Experience working in global business environment with sound understanding of global process and transactional flows.
? Demonstrated ability to influence others, both directly and indirectly and to operate effectively in a matrixed environment.
? Adaptable/flexible: open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or ability to work in ambiguous situations.
