Position Overview:
This position is responsible for the design and execution of China marketing strategy. This encompasses all aspects of the marketing mix and includes developing the marketing plan and product positioning strategy, identifying key areas for growth by products and markets, creating Go-To-Market plans for new product launch, building brand awareness, establishing pricing with margin objectives, monitoring market intelligence as well as managing marketing expenses. Reporting to JAPAC Marketing Director, this role will lead in-country marketing resources (Marcom Specialist) in the implementation of localised Marketing Strategies, and will partner with China commercial leaders in channel selection and evaluation. Additionally, this role will work closely with regional and global category managers to ensure China market and customer requirements are adequately and appropriately represented in new New Product Development projects. The role will also provide support where necessary in identifying new product concepts and new market segments to enter for China.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and develop marketing strategies to realize key products/markets growth opportunities in China. Lead and establish integrated marketing communication programs to build brand awareness and generate sales leads. Construct and execute China marketing plan with an 18 months' perspective. Be the expert in defined products/markets. Represent China in New Product Development and Go-To-Market process, and responsible for New Product Launch in China with the collaboration with regional category managers. Be the Knowledge Centre of China market trends, government policies, customers' insights and competition. Set and manage marketing expense budget as approved. Establish contacts with government organizations and industry associations. Identify and participate in market research projects relating to China. Spend up to 40% time in the field.
Required Background:
Bachelor degree in Marketing, Business, or related technical field. Minimum 8 years of demonstrated experience in marketing management of China healthcare market and medical device industry. Clinical background and multinational company experience is desirable.
Mastery in spoken and written Chinese and English are essential. Proficient in Excel, MS Words, PowerPoint, and SAP.
Proven ability of strategic thinking, planning and problem solving skills. Excellent interpersonal flexibility and strong relationship building skills. Strong organizational, people management and team skills. Work well under pressure and always meet deadlines. Analytical, results-focused, delivering to commitments, and resourceful.
