Role Summary/Purpose
The Service Engineer position is responsible for ensuring on-time delivery of specific service product features, technical publications, training, global parts availability, or service process validation. The role will be involved in the full life cycle of the product from definition to verification/validation and installed base support.
Essential Responsibilities
Duties include (but are not limited to):
1. Defining procedures for field modifications, calibrations, and part replacements
2. Owning product and subsystem requirements related to serviceability and diagnosis
3. Setting FRU strategies and interfacing with external organizations such as GPRS and Service Operations
4. Maintaining effective quality systems compliance with GE Quality policies and Six Sigma standards
5. Executes design to engineering standards
6. Works within a team to deliver technical solutions
7. works with the online center, field engineers, customers and/or technical leadership to ensure that the technical deliverables are consistent with the goals of larger programs, projects or initiatives
8. Seeks mentoring to learn and solve problems
Qualifications/Requirements
1. Bachelors degree in Engineering or relative field; or equivalent and 4 years relative work experience
2. Demonstrated technical domain knowledge by being current on engineering design principles, concepts and technologies
3. Demonstrated problem-solving techniques
4. Demonstrated ability to make recommendations to technical and program leadership to improve the product, process or technology
5. Effective communication skills and boundaryless behavior—ability to present ideas clearly and concisely

1. Experience working in a Service or Systems Engineering team
2. Strong analytical, trouble-shooting skills
3. Ability to work independently
4. Customer orientation: self-motivated, self-starter with the ability to work independently and learn quickly
5. Customer focused: strong interpersonal skills, ability to listen to customer, build relationships, and work under pressure
6. Hands-on approach with regards to installations, upgrades and repairs
7. General project leadership skills
8. DICOM Networking experience
9. Design For Reliability (DFR) or Design For Service (DFS) experience
